About

I’m Noah Lerner, an Emmy Award–winning director, writer, and producer with over twenty-five years of experience in film and television. I’m also a sneaker connoisseur, poet, hip hop scholar, native New Yawkah, and Jewish sports legend. In fact, I don’t think there are many secular Israelites in NYC who can match my midrange jumper, topspin serve, and trash-talking ability. With these talents, it’s no wonder I’ve spent the majority of my career in the wide and wonderful world of sports television.

As a former college athlete, I knew that I wanted to marry my two passions—sports and film—as a career. Here, I could take all the lessons that my father, the brilliant documentarian Murray Lerner, taught me through the years. In my career, I’ve been lucky enough to work for some of the leading storytellers in the business: NFL Films, ESPN, HBO, and Showtime Sports. I’ve worn many proverbial hats—I know how to edit on a Steenbeck (look it up, young people!), write a Super Bowl spot that doesn’t suck, direct Dwayne Johnson when he’s cranky, and produce feature-length documentaries that are both funky, thought-provoking and USDA approved for quality and freshness. I am a four-time Sports Emmy winner, a fourteen-time nominee, and the recipient of over fifty Promax, Mark, Clio and New York Festival awards. At the moment, I’m hard at work on a documentary focusing on the meteoric rise of Pickleball and it’s transformative power on weekend warriors across the country.

But recognition and hyperbole aside, I am most proud of the relationships I’ve built through the years, and I’m forever grateful to have landed in a field that lets me tell stories that—if I do my job properly— transcend the arena of sports and shed some light on this thing we call life.

What kind of stories do you want to tell? Let’s collaborate!
